Jamie Grayson-Berglund
Director of Community Development
Destination Midtown appointed Jamie Grayson-Berglund as executive director in the summer of 2007. In October of 2009, her duties expanded to include oversight of the South Omaha Development Project. Her professional experience highlights her passion for helping others - from her service with the Peace Corps in Jordan to her local work with at-risk youth and the homeless with Heartland Family Service, the Nebraska AIDS Project and the Micah House in Council Bluffs.
Jamie graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She received the Peter Kiewit Foundation Comprehensive Memorial Scholarship. In the summer of 2007, she received her Master of Science in Urban Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was the recipient of the HUD Community Development Work Study Program scholarship. Her course of study included internships with the Fair Housing Center of Nebraska, Destination Midtown and the code enforcement division of the City of Omaha Planning Department. She currently serves on the Metro Area Continuum of Care for the Homeless Board of Directors, Activate Omaha Leadership Team, Neighborhood Center Advisory Board and Omaha by Design Advisory Council.
Jamie is the oldest of six children, enjoys outdoor activities, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. Jamie is married to Allen Berglund and they are expecting their first child in May 2010.

Rebecca Walters
Intern
Rebecca joined Destination Midtown as Leavenworth District Intern in March of 2009. Her work at Destination Midtown involves creating community involvement and facilitating communications with those interested in the Leavenworth District.
In 2003, Rebecca graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Since 2003, she has been employed at Gentry Smiles Family Dentistry as Business Manager. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in healthcare at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
